Chris Matthews: Ted Cruz is a racist

According to Chris Matthews, who's spittle filled delusional rants have so infected the airwaves of the little watched network of MSNBC, by simply using a bit of humor when referring to Washington DC, Ted Cruz is a racist and, "has a total lack of understanding of American history."

How you can judge that from a simple statement Ted Cruz uttered when he returned home to Texas after being in Washington for the last month fighting the wildly unpopular Obamacare, is only an exercise that happens in the progressive tuned mind of Matthews.

What did Cruz say that allowed Matthews to add to his long list of things that will now get you accused of being a racist (only if you are a Republican of course)? The statement to a cheering crowd was, "Having spent the past month up in D.C., it is really great to be back in America." That's it. That's all Cruz said.

For a simple joke, probably used by hundreds, if not thousands  of politicians over the years, Matthews let lose on Senator Ted Cruz with this statement:

"...this isn’t a casual reference. This “We’re Americans, we white people out here in Texas, as opposed to people who live in the big cities: the ethnics, the blacks, the browns. Those people in Washington, those liberals, they’re not Americans.” This guy either has a total lack of understanding of American history and the hell we went through in the McCarthy period, or he knows it damn well and is playing that card. What do you think it is: knowledge or ignorance?"

Funny that Matthews accuses Cruz of "playing that card" when of course Matthews is doing exactly that very thing.
