Democrats Want Oprah To Help Delude The Masses Into Buying Obamacare

Will Oprah be selling Obamacare

There's nothing like star power and influence to market your product, whatever it may be. That's why democrat leaders and healthcare activists are hoping they can sign on Oprah Winfrey to help promote Obama's signature piece of legislative propaganda known as Obamacare.

To make it work, the President has to get people to sign up willingly for Obamacare and if no one, or just simply not enough people opt for government sponsored healthcare insurance then it won't have enough dollars coming in to pay for it. Then you have disaster. That's why Obama needs Oprah to use her star quality, public opinion moving, jump out of your seats and say thanks for the free gifts, book club promoting persona.

The bad news for Obama is that 54% of Americans disapprove of his healthcare initiative and those are not good numbers to start a coercively voluntary government program. Many people will just opt for no insurance at all, but then may quite possibly ask for coverage even though they have never paid into the program.

Even with Oprah's star power, Obamacare is so badly designed and according to the Congressional Budget Office, will be so far over budget it will probably either bring down the US economy or die a slow death of attrition as those who are foolish enough to sign up for it, slowly leave for better coverage elsewhere. Whatever the case, with no one fully understanding the implications and costs of such a government monstrosity, it will almost surely be a disaster as are most government run programs.

Could Oprah sell ObamaCare to America?

That’s the question on the lips of healthcare activists who are hoping the talk show queen will put her considerable influence behind the promotional campaign for President Obama’s signature law.

The billionaire media mogul is a supporter and family friend of the Obamas, but has given no indication she’s interested in participating in the enrollment push that is set to begin this fall.

That said, the White House is aggressively tapping its network of allies in Hollywood as it looks to drum up publicity for ObamaCare, with Oprah among the most powerful supporters of all.

Marketing experts say her involvement would be a game-changer.

“The numbers surrounding her impact are really wild,” said Ethan Rome, executive director of the consumer group Health Care for America Now.

Rome said Oprah is the exception to the rule that political endorsements don’t affect behavior.

“Oprah transcends that in a serious way. She is not somebody who simply influences how people think. She influences what people do, and when it comes to enrollment, that’s what matters,” Rome said.
