The top military commander of Hamas, Ahmed Jabari, was killed today in an Israeli air strike in Gaza City. Jabari was tops on the Israeli's most wanted list for masterminding several deadly attacks one being the infamous attack that captured an Israeli soldier and killed two others when Hamas militants raided a border crossing in 2006.

I'm sure we will hear the usual litany of condemnation from several terrorist organizations and possibly the UN, but there will predictably be not mention whatsoever of the daily rocket fire that Jewish citizens of Israel must endure from Hamas terrorists. In fact there have been more than 100 rockets launched into Israel by Hamas in the last 5 days alone. How many news organizations will report those facts?

Read more on the assassination from The Jerusalem Post below:

The assassination of top Hamas leader Ahmed Jabari is a declaration of war, Fawzi Barhoum, a spokesman for the Islamist movement, said Wednesday.

Barhoum's statement came as Hamas's armed wing, Izzadin Kassam Brigades, vowed to avenge the killing of its commander.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the Israeli military operation and called for saving the residents of the Gaza Strip from war. He also called for an emergency meeting of the Arab League to discuss the Israeli "aggression" against the Gaza Strip.

Chief PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat said that the PA holds Israel responsible for the "brutal aggression" against the Gaza Strip. "The occupation has committed a grave crime and crossed all red lines," Barhoum, the Hamas spokesman, said.

"This is a real declaration of war. The enemy will pay a heavy price for its crime and will regret the moment it thought of perpetrating it."
