Lois Lerner’ Lawyer: Republicans Denigrating Innocent Woman Because It’s An Election Year

Lois Lerner's attorney speaks

It is becoming pretty evident that President Obama himself must have been involved in the IRS targeting scandal simply from the extraordinary lengths the media, Democrats and Lois Lerner's attorneys are going to.

Lerner's attorney, William Taylor, appeared on CNN's State of The Union with Candy Crowley and said of the scrutiny of Ms Lerner, that this was nothing more than, "election year politics."

Apparently the lame excuse of Lerner's hard drive crash and loss of emails isn't "election year politics" as well? And the lie that her emails are irretrievably lost, the ones that only relate to the investigation into IRS targeting, the ones that by federal law were supposed to be backed up to 3 levels of security, sure that isn't, "election year politics"either?

I wonder if anyone else who worked at the IRS at the time has missing emails as well? If they can locate a single IRS employee's emails from the time Lois Lerner's emails are supposedly missing, then you know they are lying because ALL IRS emails are supposed to be backed up. How could they just lose a selectively few emails?

Red more below from CNN:

The attorney for embattled former IRS official Lois Lerner said Sunday that Republicans are denigrating an innocent woman for purely political purposes.

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Candy Crowley, attorney William Taylor said it’s “convenient” for the GOP to suggest that Lerner’s computer crash, which destroyed documents sought by a House Committee, means something “nefarious” was going on.

“This is election-year politics,” Taylor said on “State of the Union” in his first television appearance on the controversy.

“It’s convenient to have a demon that they can create and point to.”

An investigation that was initially focused on whether the IRS unfairly targeted certain political groups became more convoluted last week when the agency announced the destruction of Lerner’s e-mails – lost in an apparent hard drive crash.
