Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has teamed up with the same radical mosque attended by the very bombers who wreaked havoc at the Boston Marathon killing 3 spectators and injured 264 more, to wish Muslims in his state a happy Eid al-Adha.

Curiously in his message below, which is also posted on the Islamic Society of Boston's website, Governor Patrick states that, "the idea of common cause and common destiny is critical to making the commonwealth and the country stronger." Really, common destiny? While not all Muslims are radical, the stated goal of Islam is to apply Islamic Shari‘a law globally. Last time I checked, Shari'a does't quite line up with the Constitution.

Secondly, to even call out the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha is strange because it is in direct conflict with what Christians believe. While the Muslim world celebrates Ibrahim's (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael, Christians believe that while Abraham's first born son was indeed Ishmael, he was not the first born son of Abraham and Sarah, his wife who God said would bear their child and receive the promise.

Christians believe it was Issac, not Ishmael who was the first born son who received the promise from God and eventually grew his family into the lineage that Jesus Christ was born through some 4,000 years later. This couldn't be more antithetical to what Muslims believe. So again one must ask, what "common destiny" is Governor Deval Patrick referring to?
