MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry’s Callous Disregard For Human Life – Frets About Cost ‘To Have This Thing Turn Into A Human’
MSNBC is not known for anything approaching unbiased journalism as it appears to be one of the most anti-God, ultra liberal, morally bankrupt, in-love-with-Obama media outlets in existence today. One could certainly refer to MSNBC as the State Run Media as they so closely follow in lock step with the Obama administration's liberal policies, but with Melissa Harris-Perry's callous disregard for human life, near love of abortion and flat out ignorance of the science of embryonic development and pure intellectual dishonesty, the network has sunk to new lows, if that is even possible.
In a segment on Ms Harris-Perry's show last week discussing states regulating the killing practice of abortion, she said this below while talking about the female reproductive system and holding up a model of a human embryo:
"Oh, no. That might be bad. I seemed to have popped open the fertilized egg. We'll put that back together. But the very idea that this would constitute a person, right? And that some set of constitutional rights should come to this. Look, I get that that is a particular kind of faith claim. It's not associated with science. But the reality is that if this turns into a person, right, there are economic consequences, right? The cost to raise a child, $10,000 a year up to $20,000 a year. When you're talking about what it actually costs to have this thing turn into a human, why not allow women to make the best choices that we can with as many resources and options instead of trying to come in and regulate this process?"
That statement is so morally bankrupt Pastor Albert Moehler commented, "When you think about the jumbled mass of unspeakable moral confusion that is reflected in that short paragraph, it simply requites a closer attention."
First, Ms Harris-Perry either knows nothing or refuses to speak about the actual science of how a baby develops or when the fetal heartbeat starts if she asserts that regulating abortion on the basis that it is human life we are dealing with is some kind of "a particular kind of faith claim. It's not associated with science." It most definitely is associated with science and she is just using a technique of pulling in something authoritative sounding when in fact she gets the authority she tries to use for her benefit, brazenly wrong.
More than 55% of abortions in the US occur between 7 weeks and 12 weeks and a developing baby at 10 weeks most certainly looks like a human and is not a "this thing" as seen below:
Secondly, and even beyond that, a baby's heartbeat begins at just 22 days, only 3 to 5 weeks (Depending on how you count when pregnancy begins. Date of last period vs actual conception) into a woman's pregnancy. So the science is there proving beyond any doubt that this is a developing human being and not just a mass of tissue we can refer to as "this thing."
However, it is not the fact that we are dealing with a human being here as the intellectually confused Ms Harris tries to argue away, because her next few statement give away her real agenda. It is the money or more to the heart of the matter, the love of money, that is the problem. In an age when entitlements from government and "it's all about me" thinking has been drilled into our heads for about a full generation, spending money on something other than stuff for our personal benefit is anathema. You mean I can't spend all that money on myself and I might have to actually raise a child at a cost of $10,000 or $20,000 a year? Perish the thought...unless a baby is what I want.
It is shocking that news reporters can even think this way. We are most certainly living in ethically confounded times as there should not be such confusion and selfishness about providing a safe place for developing human life to grow. If you want to see the kind of network MSNBC really is and their obvious lack of any standards of journalist integrity, watch the video of Melissa Harris-Perry below. Her callousness is chilling.
