Oblivious Colorado Rep Diana DeGette – Once Ammo Magazines Are Used ‘There Won’t Be Any More Available’

Rep Diana DeGette high capacity ammo magazines

You would think the people writing laws in this country and ruling over us  would at least have some basic understanding of the issues they are legislating. Unfortunately, that is not always the case as Representative Diana DeGette from Colorado showed everyone yesterday at a gun control forum sponsored by the Denver Post. In a stunning display of ignorance about so-called high capacity ammo magazines, magazines she sponsored legislation to ban, Rep DeGette indicated her understanding was that when an ammo magazine was emptied of its bullets, "there won't be any more available." Meaning once they are fired, they cannot be used again.

The tragedy of such ignorance is that as an elected representative, sworn to uphold the Constitution, which of course would include the 2nd Amendment, she is writing or sponsoring bills to ban something she has absolutely no understanding of or how it works. You would expect a United States Representative to at least get familiar with what a high-capacity magazine is, how many rounds of ammunition it holds, how it operates and how it is used on a gun. Apparently Rep DeGette has never thought of that.

Such ignorance only serves to hurt everyone this woman serves and completely undermines people's faith in the rule of law. When you have such utter ignorance on an issue you are trying to legislate, you put the entire Constitution on shaky ground. When the people see such blindness some most certainly would think, why would they bother to obey anything that comes out of Washington?

If our conservative legislators in Congress had any testosterone about them, they would demand this woman resign on the grounds of utter incompetence. This woman has no business being in Congress. We simply cannot afford to have such ignorance legislating from Washington. The entire fabric of the Constitution is at stake.

Below is Rep DeGette's comments in transcript and on video. Watch the video to fully understand the incredible witless battle we are engaged in on the Second Amendment.

"These are ammunition, they're bullets, so the people who have those now, they're going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available"
