After the killing of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer and a shootout with police complete with bombs being thrown from the suspects car at police, one of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing has been shot dead and a massive manhunt is underway for the other, police authorities said early Friday. The MIT police officer was killed on campus late Thursday before the Boston bombing suspects stole a car at gunpoint and then later released its owner unharmed.

Police and FBI are not releasing names at the present time and are referring to the individuals as suspect 1 and suspect 2. Suspect 1, the one wearing the black hat in the video and photos circulated by the FBI (pictured above) is believed to have been shot and then later died at a local area Watertown hospital.

Suspect 2 is still believed to be at larger after the gun battle and is obviously considered armed and very dangerous. Boston Police Commissioner said via Twitter one of the two suspects was killed and said later at a press conference about suspect number 2, "We believe this to be a terrorist, we believe this to be a man who's come here to kill people. We need to get him in custody."

Suspect 2, still on the run, is pictured below.
