Michelle Obama Best Picture dress

Even in the bad economic times are facing with millions out of work and of course the looming sequestration budget cuts that President Obama says will send us into depression and may end the world as we know it, the First Lady still manages to put on an ostentatious display of wealth when she presented the Oscar for Best Picture this past Sunday Evening. When Michelle Obama read the award for Best Picture which went to Ben Affleck's Argo, she was surrounded by a military escort all decked out in their best dress uniforms and the First Lady was wearing a silver sequined gown by designer Naeem Khan.

So how much does that dress retail for? Let's try, $8,990 according to an article over at We don't know specifics about the dress whether it was donated, given to her, rented for the evening,  or what, but it is a ridiculous display of wealth when the President has spending the last 5 or 6 years (we're counting his first presidential campaign as well) traveling around the country denigrating wealth, shaming the very producers themselves who have built this country with innovation and constantly repeating the mantra that the rich, "need to pay their fair share" or "share the wealth" or "contribute just a little bit more."

There is not one ounce of humility shown by this current administration in the supposed hard times we are facing and the never ending spending government engages in. This is just one more display of a regime gone mad with no regard to the economic troubles we are facing. But amazingly, people still eat up the rhetoric that emanates from those that are bleeding our economy dry for their own political purposes.

That stunning silver dress must have cost a fortune, an odd choice for a woman whose husband is constantly seeking ways to punish the rich and once declared, "I do think at a certain point you've made enough money."

In fact, the dress in question had a price tag that would keep families currently looking for work in Age of Obama afloat for months.

The Washington Free Beacon reports the "silver sparkler was a custom design by Naeem Khan with an estimated price tag of $8,990."
