Obama says Al Qaeda has been decimated

However President Obama wants to twist the words to make the story look good for him and his so-called leadership, that just suits his agenda fine. The mantra which started before the election was 'Al Qaeda has been decimated and Bin Laden is dead' as that phrase propelled him to another torturous 4 years in the White House for America. And even while we have had to close down 19 of our embassies and diplomatic missions in the Middle East because of "an unprecedented terror threat," President Obama still insists that, "we decimated the Al Qaeda leadership that attacked us on 9/11."

Obama made his responsibility shirking statement Wednesday at Camp Pendleton in California and while the President and his propaganda team could probably technically get away with such a misdirected statement because the leadership of Al Qaeda that masterminded the 9/11 attack has more than likely completely changed hands, the terrorist group is still just as powerful. New leaders are being developed all the time in an organization such as Al Qaeda as is painfully evident in the fact that our embassies across the Middle East are closed, some until further notice.

However, those closings and the fact that we are on the run from a threat by a group that has been "decimated" is not a sign to Obama that Al Qaeda is still strong and a threat. The threat according to Obama is from, "affiliates and like-minded extremists." Isn't that a wonderfully nice way to take the heat off of a leadership-less President who's whole foreign policy consists of sending in drones to kill terrorist leaders, their families, their neighbors and anyone else who happens to be in the way?

Call it anything you want, Al Qaeda is still a huge threat and Barack Obama is a liar.

Even as 19 U.S. diplomatic missions are closed for the week, President Barack Obama reiterated that Al Qaeda has been “decimated,” making a distinction between the terror network’s leadership and affiliates.

“Because of you, Osama bin Laden is no more,” Obama told Marines Wednesday at Camp Pendleton, Calif. “Because of you, Al Qaeda’s top ranks have been hammered. The core of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan are on the way to defeat. That happened because of you.”

During the 2012 presidential campaign Obama repeatedly said that Al Qaeda has been “decimated” or was on the run.

The president went on the talk about the embassy closures that reportedly occurred because of intercepted communications between leaders and members of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), a Yemen-based affiliate.

“But of course, the end of the war in Afghanistan doesn’t mean the end of threats to our nation,” Obama said. “As I said before, even as we decimated the Al Qaeda leadership that attacked us on 9/11, Al Qaeda affiliates and like-minded extremists still threaten our homeland, still threaten our diplomatic facilities, still threaten our businesses abroad and we’ve got to take these threats seriously and do all we can to confront them.”

“We’ve been reminded of this again in recent days,” Obama continued. “I want to take special time out to thank all our brave diplomats and military personnel who have been working around the clock to safeguard our embassies and our consulates and our fellow Americans serving overseas, including all those vigilant Marines standing guard at our embassies around the world.”
