Tony Bennett Thinks We Need Gun Control To Prevent Us From Becoming Like Nazi Germany

Tony Bennett Gun Control with Chris Rock

In the same Capitol Hill press conference where Chris Rock said that Michelle and Barack Obama are our mom and dad and we should listen to them, singer Tony Bennett also had a few words to say. Unfortunately, his words were as empty and naive as were Chris Rock's. Tony is a pacifist and never thinks we should be involved in war, he doesn't allow guns in his home and he also thinks assault weapons should be taken off our streets.

I hate to criticize Mr Bennett because I admire him and his distinguished career, but his sentiments are seriously gullible and misinformed in light of human nature and the power grabbing political climate we are accustomed to. If man were not the fallen, capable of great evil character he is today, we would have no need of guns, nor a police force, nor an army to protect national security. We would also have no need of of private citizens owning guns or even voting for that matter, because the enlightened world that Tony Bennett believes can happen someday would just put forth their best, most honest, most capable leader.

That is not the world we live in. Not even close. Man is fallen, power hungry, greedy, intellectually dishonest, lazy and much more, but these days most of our politicians tend to display those qualities even in public, yet astonishingly, we still elect them to office multiple times. Tony Bennett is incredibly naive if he thinks Nazi Germany came out of a violent society. No Mr Bennett, they took advantage of the zeitgeist of the day and created the violence. And unfortunately for millions of Jews and German and other European citizens, if someone would have stood up to Hitler early on and not been pacifists and appeasers, those citizens not even involved in the battles themselves, would not have died in vain.

While some widely used Hitler gun control quotes are myths, the fact is, there were not many guns around when he came to power because of extremely restrictive gun control measures before he became Chancellor and eventually Fuhrer. In the period after the First World War between 1919 and 1928 firearms were seized and merely possessing one could get you executed. The rest of the story of the brutal and murderous German Reich under Hitler is history for all to examine.

Mr Bennett fails to realize that it was not the violence of the German people which plunged the European and West Asian continents into chaos and killing, it was the ruling class in Germany that built an army and machine which marched on and turned to rubble the nearly defenseless cities in their path.

This and only this is what the Second Amendment to our United States Constitution stands against.

Read the transcript of Tony Bennett's statement and watch the video below that:

It's the kind of turn that happened to the great country of Germany, when Nazis came over and created tragic things, and they had to be told off. And if we continue this kind of violence and accept it in our country, the rest of the world's going to really take care of us, in a very bad way.

We should learn that we're the greatest country, because we're all different nationalities and all different religions. And we should show the rest of the world how to behave.
