George W. Bush is a well liked man and has an approval rating that is currently higher than the president now occupying the White House. For all that the media put into destroying Bush and as much effort that they used to make Bush look bad during his presidency, man Americans still have very favorable impression of the former chief executive.

There are many things that go into getting a favorable rating from the American people. While there are those who will be extremely partisan and not think kindly of those on the opposite of the political spectrum, most people can see beyond just the Democrat or Republican side of a person.

Favorability comes not only what you do in office, but what kind of person you are, how you treat those who work for you, how you carry yourself and being a person of integrity. Even if people agree with you politically, if you are not a person of personal integrity and put on a show just for the cameras, you won't be very well liked.

So here are the top 7 reasons America liked and still likes George W. Bush...

1. George W. Bush is punctual: One of Bush's long-time advisers, Karen Hughes, asked him years ago why he was always early for appointments. “Late is rude,” Bush replied. He expressed respect for other people's time by showing that if people were going to take the time to see him, he shouldn’t keep them waiting.

2. Basic Presidential Leadership - In the days after 9/11, President Bush was standing in the rubble of the Twin Towers as soon as it was deemed safe, the current occupier of the Oval Office on the other hand has been very absent in the wake of almost every single national crisis since he has been president. Bush came into the office of the President with executive skills already since he had owned and run a baseball team, owned and run an oil company, had also run an entire state as the Governor of Texas and he knew how to fly a fighter jet which is no small accomplishment.

3. Bush did not blame presidents that came before him nor criticize the president after him. We all know how different that is with the current occupier of the White House.

4. Bush loves his family and is enthralled with his grandchildren as you can see from the photo at the top.

5. Bush was a staunch supporter of Israel - He backed Israel to the hilt during that country’s 2006 operations against Hezbollah as just a single example.

6. Bush never apologized for America being a great country - The current occupant of the White House has apologized for America’s past actions in practically every speech he’s given on when traveling to a foreign country, George W. Bush was a patriot and loved America.

7. Bush believed in the Special Relationship between the United States and Great Britain - George W Bush never insulted the British people by throwing a bust of Churchill out of the Oval Office. President Bush recognized Great Britain as America’s closest friend and ally, and placed the Special Relationship at the very heart of US foreign policy. It is hard to tell what kind of a relationship with have with Britain right now.
